Getting Started as a Volunteer
Whether you're a cybersecurity professional or just getting started in cybersecurity, there's a place for you at Cyber Storm Centre. Here's how to find it.
1. Figure out where you want to contribute
Most volunteers pick one of two starting points:
- Work on your own project — if you're already running infrastructure elsewhere in Div0, you can plug its telemetry into the SOC instead of starting from scratch.
- Join other teams — jump into the SOC itself, whether that's building infrastructure, operating day-to-day, or analysing telemetry and publishing research.
You don't need to commit to one permanently — many volunteers move between the two as their interests evolve.
2. Reach out
Head to the Contact page and tell us a bit about your background and what you're interested in. No experience required — enthusiasm and a willingness to learn matter more than a resume.
3. Get plugged in
From there, we'll point you toward the right project, team, or onboarding material so you can start contributing as quickly as possible.
We're building this in the open, as a community, and every volunteer — regardless of experience level — makes the Cyber Storm Centre ecosystem stronger.
